What exactly is my 6.0 current?
The My current program is a government initiative supporting the development of renewable energy micro-installations in Poland. Its main goal is to promote the energy independence of citizens by supporting investments in photovoltaic panels and accompanying devices such as energy storage and energy management systems (EMS). The latest edition of the program - My current 6.0 - has been expanded compared to the previous versions and provides for additional requirements, as well as a much wider range of financing activities.
As part of the 2024/2025 edition, the government allocated a record amount PLN 1.85 billionWhat makes this program one of the most generous in the history of prosumer support. Applications can be submitted to August 29, 2025 or until the budget is exhausted.
Who can benefit from the grant?
They can use the program natural personswhich own or co-owners of single-family houses and have a photovoltaic micro-installation. The key condition for participation in the program is that the investor should settle accounts in the system net-billingwhich applies to new prosumers in Poland. Importantly, the subsidy is also granted to those who purchased the installation after February 1, 2020, provided that new guidelines are met regarding, inter alia, installation of energy storage.
What investments can be financed in the program?
My current 6.0 provides funding not only for photovoltaic panels, but also for photovoltaic panels electricity and heat storageand also energy management systems. Thanks to this, the home installation gains not only on efficiency, but also on independence in relation to the external network.
The amount of the grant is as follows:
- Photovoltaic installation can get support for PLN 6,000, while in the case of integration with the energy storage - up to PLN 7,000.
- Electricity storage, with a minimum capacity of 2 kWh, are subsidized to the amount PLN 16,000.
- Heat storage (min. 20 dm³) can be financed up to the amount PLN 5,000.
- Energy Management Systems (EMS) are covered by additional subsidies as part of the Support Package.
In total, this gives the possibility of obtaining a grant in the amount of even PLN 28,000 for one household.
Mandatory energy storage - a new standard for renewable energy investments
A novelty in the program My Electricity 6.0, which will come into force from August 1, 2024, is a requirement to install an energy storage for each new PV installation. Only such investments will be eligible for a grant. As a result, the program beneficiaries will gain greater energy independence and will be able to effectively manage the surplus of produced energy, which will significantly improve the profitability of the entire investment.
The energy storage is also a way to protect yourself against power outages and the possibility of even better use of free solar energy in the household.
Pre-financing investments - you do not need to have your own funds
For many investors, a barrier to the implementation of RES projects is the need to incur significant start-up costs. As part of the My Power 6.0 program, however, you can use the option pre-financing up to PLN 22,000, offered by companies cooperating with the government program, such as Hymon or Tauron. Thanks to this, the investment can be started even without engaging its own money, and the subsidy will be settled after its completion.

The investment in renewable energy in 2024 is primarily saving on electricity bills, but also a conscious response to changing climatic and legal conditions. In the face of the increasing number of blackouts and network overloads, our own production and energy storage becomes not only beneficial, but even necessary.
